Cieha's Story
Cieha Taylor was a vibrant and loving 28-year-old woman from Plant City, Florida. Known for her bubbly personality and radiant smile, she was deeply cherished by her family and friends. Cieha had a close-knit relationship with her mother, Canitha, who described her as someone who would never willingly disappear. Her life was marked by the typical ups and downs, but she always managed to maintain a positive outlook and a strong connection with those around her.
On February 6, 2020, Cieha's life took a tragic turn. After dropping off her boyfriend, Jason, at a friend's house, she vanished without a trace. Her car was found abandoned near railroad tracks, still running, with her purse inside and her phone found on the ground nearby. This discovery marked the beginning of a heartbreaking and perplexing mystery that has left her loved ones in a state of anguish and uncertainty.
Despite extensive search efforts and the involvement of law enforcement, no significant evidence or leads have emerged. Cieha's family has remained steadfast in their search for answers, holding vigils, raising rewards for information, and creating a Facebook page to keep her case in the public eye. Their determination to find Cieha and bring her home, even if only for closure, is a testament to the deep love and commitment they have for her.
As the years have passed, the pain of not knowing what happened to Cieha has only intensified. Her family continues to grapple with the belief that she was likely murdered, though no suspects have been publicly named. The emotional toll of her disappearance is evident in their statements, reflecting the profound sense of loss and frustration that comes with having no answers.

On February 6, 2020, Cieha Taylor, a 28-year-old woman from Plant City, Florida, dropped off her boyfriend, Jason, at a friend's house on Cowart Road around 4:00 p.m. Later that evening, at approximately 7:00 p.m., her black two-door Toyota Solara was found abandoned and still running on the railroad tracks at East Trapnell Road, just west of Jap Tucker Road, about a mile from Jason's house. The car was unlocked, and her purse was inside, but her phone was found on the ground nearby.
The discovery of her car raised immediate concerns. Despite the car being found in such a precarious position, it wasn't reported until three days later by a passerby. This delay in reporting and the subsequent police response have been points of contention. The initial investigation did not thoroughly examine the scene, which may have led to missed opportunities for gathering crucial evidence.
Multiple searches were conducted in the area, including the use of K9 units and helicopters, but no significant evidence or leads were found. The case grew more complex when new information suggested that Cieha might have been experiencing a mental crisis on the day she disappeared.
Three weeks after her disappearance, Cieha's shoes were found on a drainage pipe near the road where her car had been abandoned, next to a telephone pole with a missing persons flier about her. This discovery was unsettling, as the area had been previously searched multiple times, leading her mother, Canitha, to believe the shoes were deliberately placed there after Cieha went missing.
The investigation has faced numerous challenges and has stalled over the years. Despite the involvement of law enforcement, including the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the Homeland Security Division’s Special Incident Response Team, no new leads have emerged. The family has continued to hold vigils, raise rewards for information, and maintain a social media presence to keep the case in the public eye.
In August 2020, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office launched a cold case podcast in hopes of reigniting public interest in Cieha’s case. The podcast revealed that both Jason and his friend had mentioned Cieha seemed to be acting unusually on the day she disappeared, suggesting she might have been experiencing a mental crisis.
As of May 2023, the case remains unsolved, and Cieha’s family continues to believe she was likely murdered, though no suspects have been publicly named. The lack of closure and new leads has caused immense frustration for her loved ones, who remain committed to finding answers.
